![]() Alzheimer's Care Where Dignity Is Not Forgotten In years past, people with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia had two options: 1) live with a relative or 2) in a nursing home. Fortunately, we offer a more comfortable alternative. Our Special Care Unit, known as Magnolia Place, transcends the traditional nursing home approach to dementia care. Instead of being shut in, Magnolia Place residents are integrated on-site into a special assisted care environment, allowing them to maintain independence and self-esteem while receiving 24-hour supervision. As part of our commitment to dementia care, we have developed Magnolia Place, a separate community dedicated solely to serving residents with Alzheimer's disease. Here, we combine state-of-the-art care with a range of therapeutic activities designed to prolong physical and emotional well-being. Our beautiful facility is tastefully designed and monitored to allow freedom and security in a pleasant "open" area. Our enclosed courtyard is arranged with walking paths and areas for resting, while enjoying the scenic trees and birds that visit our private garden. Magnolia Place offers an elegant sky-lighted dining area and various recreation areas that are also bright and inviting. Like our sister facility, Longwood Plantation, Magnolia Place offers many services and amenities, while providing independence, safety, and dignity for our residents. A fully secured unit, Magnolia Place has developed a program, "Structuring the Day", that provides its residents with various amounts of assistance with personal needs as well as structured recreational programs. This Special Care Unit provides a state-of-the-art design, with programs formulated to maximize quality of life and emphasize each resident's strengths by individual plans of care. Meals are provided from the main kitchen at Longwood. Snacks are always available from the on-site nourishment kitchen.
Remember that although the decision to move your loved one to a care community can be very emotional and difficult, it can also lead to an improved quality of life for all of you. |
